Welcome to the Beedz Nest!

I melt glass.  Hot dripping honey like glass. In other words...
I play with fire and LOVE it...!!!  When I'm not playing with fire, I'm a Published Doll Sculptor.
Which means, I sculpt newborn babies out of polymer clay,
and they are sold to either the serious Doll Collector or Galleries for reproduction rights into vinyl.
But while yer here, go ahead...click and peek at my world of babies...

Back to Lampwork....
Each bead is made by me, Glass Artist ~ Lori Nicolls, then properly kiln annealed for durability...

All of my glasswork is Soda Lime (Italian Moretti , CIM &  Lauscha.)

I also have an Etsy Store, so you can peek in on beedz that are already made:

I will be adding new glass work constantly...so keep checking back! I'm always happy to hear from you...

And be sure to visit the

I started lampworking on a beloved hothead torch in June of 2004.
I took a lo-o-o-ong winters nap from November of 04 to April of 05,
then decided to jump in with both feet and bought a Nortel Minor Torch.
The bead below right is one of my first
messy florals...allow me to emphasize...MESSY! lol
I thought it was the bomb-snickety though!

Practice was/is my only teacher...and have self taught myself everything I know.

Once I learned how to initially get a good footprint of glass, with the help of
Passing the Flame (Corina Tettinger's book) I could actually get a round bead....
Each time I light my torch, I find a new method, a new color possibility or am simply reminded that practice makes perfect.

For any of you newbies starting to Lampwork, remember the 3 P's.
Practice, Practice, Practice.  Oh....& did I mention you need to Practice?

I plan to further my study of glass, between web study, many more books and with the hope of meeting some of the awesome glass makers....

 Bead Happy!

I did some gallery work, with D. Sanderson...it was a lot of fun, and
I received so many wonderful photos ....here are a few....
